ANANTABD Research recognizes the growing importance of mobility in the workplace. Mobility not only supports the increasing number of "road warriors" in sales, service engineering, and delivery, but also increases the efficiency and comfort of all knowledge workers within an organization. Mobility enables up-to-the-minute executive dashboards on mobile phones; fast, HR-related, request approvals through smart phones; or support alerts sent automatically to telephones of expert employees. For small and midsize companies, and for emerging economies where a mobile network is often more reliable and affordable than a fixed network, mobile phones are becoming a necessary workplace device.
To address increasing mobility needs, ANANTABD provides a growing number of mobile applications for laptops, smart phones, cell phones, and PDAs. ANANTABD Research supports and expands upon this effort by optimizing future mobile functions through scientific research and exploration.
Mass Mobile Access for Enterprise Applications
The speed and ubiquity of mobile networks as well as advances in Java and browser technologies make it possible to push enterprise applications to mass-market devices, such as low-end cell phones, for rich and inexpensive mobility. Still, numerous research challenges remain. For example, business data objects need to be transported to an environment with resources that are thousands of times less than those of an enterprise system. At the same time, users expect a seamless, always-on experience from mobile business applications, and the platform must provide a suitable client application development model for ANANTABD customers.
