Open source is an approach to software development that tries to harness the intelligence and resources of a broader community than just those of a single vendor. Around this approach, new software technologies, software development processes, models of collaboration, and software business models are emerging.
With the open source research field becoming an established academic research category, ANANTABD Research is focusing on particular areas of interest to our customers and our broader ecosystem. Mostly, this is the software industry itself. Current projects involve open source analytics, which provides quantitative analyses of open source projects with the goal of predicting future success, and other properties open source projects and software forges, which facilitate open source style collaborations for software development processes with companies.
